Celebrating Excellence in Community Radio: Inaugural Community Radio Awards

Boitumelo Media is proud to present the first-ever Community Radio Awards, a groundbreaking event set to take place on April 25, 2025. This prestigious occasion is dedicated to honoring the remarkable contributions of community radio stations and their committed broadcasters who serve as the heartbeat of local media.

Recognizing the Power of Community Radio

For years, community radio has played a crucial role in providing vital news, entertainment, and cultural expression to diverse audiences. These stations amplify underrepresented voices, foster connections, and create a sense of belonging within communities. To acknowledge this impactful work, the Community Radio Awards will celebrate the individuals and programs that have made significant contributions in areas such as community engagement, social justice, and storytelling.

Event Highlights

The Community Radio Awards will feature:

• Awards Presentation: Categories include Best Community Program, Outstanding Volunteer, and Special Recognition, among many others.
• Networking Opportunities: Attendees will have the chance to engage with industry peers, sponsors, and supporters of community broadcasting.

Call for Nominations

Nominations are now open! Community radio professionals and stations are encouraged to submit their entries by March 10, 2025 (midnight).

To apply, submit a 6-minute audio clip, along with:

• Presenter’s profile
• Show profile
• Written motivation for submission

Entries can be submitted via email to admin@boitumelomedia.co.za or through the official website: www.boitumelomedia.co.za. The list of nominees will be announced on March 31, 2025.
