South African Heroes Awards, an esteemed platform that celebrates ordinary South Africans who are doing extra-ordinary things to uplift their communities, is proud and honoured to announce that Kwaito legend Bonginkosi ‘Zola 7’ Dlamini together with actress and choreographer Khabonina Qubeka will be presented with the Ubuntu and Art of Giving Honorary Awards at this year’s SA Heroes Awards ceremony.
The prestigious awards ceremony will be held on 30 September 2023 at Joburg Theatre.

Bonginkosi Dlamini, popularly known as Zola 7, is an iconic Award-winning South African kwaito Singer, Actor, and TV star. He is a philanthropist and through his show “Zola 7”, which aired on SABC1, he helped a lot of people achieve their personal and social development goals such as building libraries for their communities. It is for his community development work throughout the years that the award-winning legend is bestowed the Ubuntu Honorary Award at the SA Heroes Awards 2023. Zola 7: “Thank you for the recognition of the work I have done for the people. Receiving this award is an honour”.
Khabonina Qubeka is an Award-winning Actress, Choreographer, Content Producer, Yogi, Health & Wellness Lifestyle coach. She is the Founder of Khabonina Foundation through which she has been regulating schools through Edudance – education through dance. She uses dance as a tool to bring out the best in kids. Through the Edudance structure, school subjects can be taught with more fun and excitement. It is for this work that the iconic star is receiving the Art of Giving Honorary Award at the SA Heroes Awards 2023. The Art of Giving Honorary Award is given to artists in film/theatre/music/dance/creative arts, who use their art to give back to communities, either through mentorship, training, or contributing towards community upliftment through their art.
Khabonina Qubeka: ” This award could not have come at a better time! I’m feeling powerful as a woman, a mother, a nurturer, and I’m inspired by the work I’m currently doing in schools and future plans I have for schools as The Khabonina Foundation. The biggest lesson I put forward/share, is that giving back should come naturally, use your voice & any platform you may currently have to give back. This is the most refreshing gift you can give yourself, which will in turn, benefit the community and those around you. The creator of these awards should be honoured too. What a selfless kind act of appreciation!
