PEP Mini Netball Festival Inspires Young Players in Worcester

Young netball players from schools across Worcester came together for a day of sport, learning and teamwork as PEP hosted its Mini Netball Festival at Laerskool Wynland on Saturday, 1 August.
The festival, held from 8am to 1pm, formed part of PEP’s ongoing commitment to developing grassroots netball while creating opportunities for young girls to grow through sport. Players from participating schools enjoyed a variety of interactive activities, skills sessions and friendly matches in a fun and supportive environment.
More than just a day of competition, the event encouraged participants to build confidence, develop their netball abilities and strengthen friendships with fellow players from different schools.
With August marking Women’s Month in South Africa, the festival also celebrated the role of sport in empowering young girls. Organisers highlighted the importance of providing girls with opportunities to develop leadership skills, self-confidence and teamwork from an early age, both on and off the court.
The Worcester festival is one of several being held across the country as part of the nationwide PEP Mini Netball programme, which aims to grow the sport at grassroots level while inspiring the next generation of young athletes.
By investing in community sport and youth development, PEP continues to help create pathways for young girls to reach their full potential, encouraging them to dream big and embrace the values of discipline, teamwork and perseverance.
