Man held as cops seize drugs ‘worth millions’
Kensington – On Monday night police seized drugs estimated to be worth millions of rands from a house in Kensington, Johannesburg.
Criminals had been producing meth at the drug laboratory when police raided the property and arrested one suspect, according to police spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubele.
He said police found the man at the house, and discovered a drug laboratory believed to be for meth. “Police also found drugs in the car, chemicals and equipment used to manufacture drugs. The car was also impounded,” Makhubele added.
Gauteng police commissioner Lt-Gen Elias Mawela commended the police narcotics unit on a job well done; and appealed to communities to work with the police in the fight against crime.
