Johannesburg health awards excelling employees
Aiming to recognise and acknowledge the hard work and accomplishments of the individuals and teams, the Johannesburg Health District in partnership with City of Johannesburg Municipality conducted Staff Excellence Awards. This exceptional event was held at Reception Room, Civic Boulevard, in Braamfontein.
Dr Mpho Phalatse, Member of Mayoral Committee for Health and Social Development portfolio happened to be among dignitaries who graced with her presence to the event.
“I feel so honoured to be part of this prestigious event, where employees who demonstrated an ability and willingness to work positively with others will be awarded. I am saying to them, we believe in you and together we can change the negative perception that people have about our health facilities. Continue to let your light shine and refuse to be the weakest link to our health care system,” Dr Phalatse commented.
Among the winners was Ivory Park clinic on special project category. This clinic converted an area that was used by the community as illegal dumping site into a vegetable garden. The vegetable is sold to the community at a very reasonable price.
Senzo Mchunu, Human Resource Practitioner in Johannesburg Health District could not hide his happiness as he was receiving his trophy and certificate for being an outstanding individual who consistently go beyond the call of duty, and he had to say that: “I thought I was dreaming when my name was called. I thought I was just invited to attend an event, without knowing that I would be among people receiving awards today” Mchunu said with a smile.
Chief Director for Johannesburg Health District, Mogeru Morewane has forwarded her gratitude to all companies contributed towards ensuring that this event became a success.
