City Hosts Inaugural MadeinJozi Youth Summit
Johannesburg is set to ignite the passion of its young residents with the first-ever #MadeInJozi Youth Summit, a dynamic and free event scheduled for Saturday, 8 June, from 9 am to 3 pm at the Brixton Multipurpose Centre.
This landmark summit will address pressing issues such as youth unemployment while highlighting the myriad opportunities available within the city. Participants will have the unique chance to network with young entrepreneurs, established business leaders, professionals from the tourism and hospitality sectors, creative minds, and City officials, promoting collaboration and civic engagement.
The event promises a full day of inspiring keynote speeches and engaging panel discussions led by distinguished industry experts. With a focus on leadership, entrepreneurship, innovation, and social impact, the summit aims to equip Johannesburg’s future leaders with the knowledge and skills necessary for success.
“The #MadeInJozi Youth Summit coincides with South Africa’s Youth Month,” said Siphokazi Duma, Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer for the City. “We aim to empower young people to succeed and contribute meaningfully to Joburg’s future. Join us as we celebrate the power and potential of Joburg’s youth.”
Registration is free and can be completed online via the City’s social media platforms and website. As spaces are limited, they will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
“Don’t miss out on this opportunity to be part of a movement shaping Joburg’s future,” urged Duma.
Young entrepreneurs and business owners are also encouraged to register as exhibitors to showcase their work to a captivated and motivated audience.
