In a bold step toward global skills development, Ekurhuleni East TVET College (EEC), in partnership with the Department of Higher Education and Training, has announced an exclusive international internship opportunity for its alumni.

This initiative offers qualified graduates a chance to gain hands-on experience in the fields of Electrical Vehicle and Automotive Industry technologies, with a fully-funded 12-month placement in China.

Targeted at former EEC students who hold Diplomas in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, the programme seeks to empower South African youth with practical global exposure and specialised training in one of the fastest-growing industries in the world. Only 15 candidates will be selected, and applications are being reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Aged between 18 and 30 years
  • Have no criminal record
  • Be medically fit with no chronic illnesses (including HIV/AIDS, TB, or any other STD)

The college has emphasised that this opportunity is strictly for EEC alumni and cautions applicants to be wary of scams. “The college does not require any form of payment for placement opportunities. We are here to serve!” states the official notice.

As per the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), candidates submitting their CVs are deemed to have given consent for their information to be shared with employment and host partners involved in the programme.

Applicants are required to submit the following documents:

  • A CV with contact details
  • Matric certificate

  • South African ID copy

All documents must be recently certified, clear, and show ID photos and official stamps. Submissions with unclear certifications or stamps covering information will not be accepted.
