Education

How did it get so late so soon?

We are heading- not so gradually – towards the summer holidays. The time to finalise plans for 2019 is now! While many institutions will be closing their applications, you can still send in your applications to study for 2019 at Boston, and ensure that your career plans take hold next year, so says Natalie Rabson (pictured) of Boston City Campus & Business College.
“Please don’t wait for 2019 to enrol for the post-school course of your dreams,” she says. “For one, you will feel so much better in your own mind if you know you have a career and course selected, and somewhere to study after your holiday.
And secondly, there are often times when documents are missing, or perhaps further administration is required on your application. These issues must be sorted before application dates close.”
Boston offers higher education courses – including BCom in Management Marketing, Diploma in Financial Accounting and Higher Certificate in Advertising & Integrated Communication Practice, to mention a few – full-time, part-time and via distance learning. Because of these varying modes of study, the Boston courses are well suited both to school leavers who enjoy full-time study, as well as to those already employed.
Those in corporate and industry may wish to either upgrade their skills, begin a new career path, or solidify their employment by gaining Higher Education qualifications.
As degree graduate, Tessa Bircher, says, “a year from now you’ll wish you had got started!”. It becomes easier for anyone to study no matter what their personal circumstances.
If you’re not sure which course to choose, drop into your closest branch and have a chat with a career advisor.
Boston has skilled career advisors standing ready to help you make a good decision, taking in consideration your personal workcircumstances, budget, career dreams. Career advice is free, with no commitment required, as part of the college’s corporate social investment.
Boston offers qualifications in various industries, and you should have no problem matching your career choice to a qualification! Full support is offered to all students and those who are working may opt to study from home, while still having access to mentors.
They can also go to their nearest Boston campus for personal support and interaction, as the majority of students do.
Furthermore, Rabson points out that at Boston there are no application fees involved, and application is a simple online process. “We understand that time is precious at this time of year – you will have an answer from our applications department within two working days – we aim to make your life simple. It’s about getting your studies going, not about waiting ages to hear from administration! We also make payment options available as people have other expenses to budget for.
“The whole South African education sector is working hard to make post-school studying more accessible for students – from simplifying application and registration processes to assisting with financing,” she elaborates.
“We really work hard to make life easier for students. In fact we have launched a subsidy programme where all our Higher Certificates are offered at a 30% subsidy to learners.” Boston is also making education accessible by widening the scope of what is on offer. Higher education includes higher certificates degrees and diplomas, and the requirements must be met for registration.
But you can also do short learning programmes that will have you skilled and work ready within a few months. These offerings are great for anyone wanting to make a career change, or get their foot in the door of the career of their dreams.
These programmes include the small business manager, DJ101, the sale representative, networking technician, booking agent and sports management. The choices are vast and lead to careers in travel and tourism, hospitality industry, music industry, retail, IT and counselling.
Boston has simple enrolment procedures; once students apply, they are able to register within two working days (if they fulfil course entry requirements). The necessary documentation is specified on the online application.
