ZIMBABWEAN NATIONAL ARRESTED FOR ARMED ROBBERY.
Johannesburg Central Police arrested a 23-year old male for armed robbery at corner Noord and Hoek Street .
According to police spokesperson Captain Xoli Mbele Police were busy with their routine crime prevention duties when they heard two
gunshots; they rushed to the above mentioned streets. They found a male lying on the ground with knife next to him. It is alleged that five suspects robbed a 50-year old male
his belongings and cash of one thousand six hundred rands.Two of the suspects had knives while three of their accomplices searched him took his bag with DSTV Decoder,video camera.
“During that altercation unknown male fired two shots; suspects ran away including the victim that was being robbed. When he saw a police vehicle in the scene of crime; victim came back and told the police that the male injured is one of the suspects that robbed him.” said Mbele
“The victim also identified the bag lying next to the injured person belongs to him. He told the police what was inside the bag.” added Mbele
According to witnesses on the scene Police also recovered another knife in the trouser of the suspect.Ambulance took suspect to the hospital under police guard; four of his accomplices are still at large. “Investigation is under way and suspect will appear soon in the Johannesburg Magistrate Court” Concluded Mbele .
