Several commuters injured in Kensington accident

Several passengers were injured when a bakkie bumped into a commuter taxi, forcing the vehicle to lose control, rolling several times, along Langerman Street in Kensington,  Johannesburg, recently.

According to eyewitnesses who spoke to the Inner-City  Gazette at the scene of the accident,

one lady described the accident as simply horrific. “I saw bodies being thrown out of the taxi as it rolled several times, honestly i have never seen such a thing in my life,” said the traumatised lady. A sombre scene prevailed as residents and motorists stopped at the scene of the accident to offer help to the affected passengers. The taxi driver lay in agony, still wearing a shirt torn to shreds, stained in blood and seemingly wondering what struck him.

At an accident scene, people are advised that, before evaluating any damages to vehicle and property, you need to attend to all the people involved in the accident to determine if anyone sustained any injuries. If you notice any injuries, call an ambulance immediately, taking care not to move anyone that is seriously hurt unless there are any threats of further injury, or death.
