Captain  Xoli Mbele spokesperson for police in Johannesburg Central has confirmed to Inner City Gazette  that Police arrested a 35-year old female for assault with an intention to cause grievous bodily harm at a tavern corner Nugget and Anderson Street on the 01st of January 2018.

According to Mbele “It is alleged that suspect stabbed his 28-year old boy-friend with a broken bottle once in the upper body at corner Main and Polly Street on the 01st of January 2018 at 14:00.”  Victim had an argument with the mother of his children; she hit him with a bottle in the forehead before she stabbed him. Ambulance treated the victim on the scene and suspect was apprehended added Mbele .

The motive for the assault is not yet known. Victim and the suspect have two children between the age of 2 and 3.

Investigation is under way and suspect will appear soon in the Johannesburg Magistrate Court.
