Man killed after bakkie crashes through wall

Westcliff  – Last Friday a man died after a bakkie he was driving crashed through a wall and ended up in the swimming pool of a house.

  Emergency services ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said paramedics, along with the City of Joburg EMS and SAPS search and rescue, arrived on the scene to find a bakkie in a swimming pool in a residential property.

  “The body of a man, believed to be in his 30s, was found lying inside the vehicle. He had sustained a head injury and was declared dead by another service,” said Meiring.

  Police search and rescue officers extricated him from the vehicle. The circumstances leading to the crash were not yet known.
