Boxer gives away a car to lucky shopper

An inner City resident, Annie Juwao drove away in a brand-new Toyota Etios on Friday October 10, at the 250th boxer superstore situated in the heart of the Inner City at Cnr Jeppe and Von Bandis.
Store manager Maxwell Ramela said from july 2018 Boxer Superstores advertised a ‘win a car competition’ inside the store at the opening of the Branch.
“The customers were expected to buy anything that would cost over R250. They signed their slip on the back and included their name, ID number and cellphone number afterwhich, contestants would drop the slip in the car parked inside the shop.
Ramela said, the draw was held and qualifying slips were picked. The finalist was then contacted on the day of the draw.
“I am excited, I bought groceries for R900, and I entered the competition without an aim of winning,” said Juwao.
“I would like to encourage other shoppers to enter the competition, my winning just goes to show that you can win big if you enter, even if it is for the first time,” said Juwao when she regained her composure.

Annie who has been a resident In the Inner City for about 9 years brought her only child for the draw.
Colin Hemlson a regional manager from Boxer Superstores Headquarters encouraged shoppers that did not win by explaining that Boxer runs competions from time to time. “Boxer is currently running a competition in which our lucky shoppers stand a chance to win a wedding package worth about R100 000,” Hemlson revealed.
Juwao told the Inner City Gazette team that, when she got the first call she thought it was a scam – she had to dial back to confirm if that was the store calling.
Annie said she will use the car to transport her family around and will continue shopping at Boxer Superstores.
