Johannesburg – Applicants for the 2020 National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) funding will get to know on January 5 if their applications have succeeded.
NSFAS spokesperson Kagisho Mamabolo said funding decisions will be communicated to applicants via the MyNSFAS portal. “All applicants are advised to check and track their application status updates online,” he said.
Mamabolo added that the scheme would also notify applicants with missing supporting documents to upload the files online through the MyNSFAS portal.
“Applicants must be vigilant and cautious during this period to avoid misinformation and potential scams. All status updates will be communicated online via the MyNSFAS portal,” said Mamabolo.
The NSFAS contact centre will not be available from December 17 to January 3, Mamabolo said.
“The shutting down of services during that period will allow NSFAS to process and conclude all funding decisions,” he added.
